General Description

As a Network Systems Administrator will play an integral role in the development of our enterprise technology platform. Responsible for management, functionality, and performance of networks and systems.

The incumbent will report directly to the Chief of Information Technology

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

  • Organizes and directs the security incident response team.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Implement and manage security measures such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of emerging security threats, technical challenges, and developments in system protection and IT security standards.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network, Security and virtualization
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Plans, recommends, and assists in the design of telecommunications systems; research and recommends telecommunications equipment.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and overall performance
  • Monitor network traffic and systems for security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats and weaknesses.
  • Manage and maintain security tools and technologies, such as antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Work with other IT staff to design and implement security solutions for new and existing systems.]
  • Assists in helpdesk support, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
  • Participate in after-hours work when necessary.
  • Provide on-site support as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, supplemented by four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the following areas or a combination of network or systems administration, administering Microsoft Infrastructure Suite to include Azure AD, Active Directory, ADFS, GPO, DNS, DHCP and hybrid Microsoft environments, administering Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking devices, administering wide/local area networks, VLANS and subnetting, administering Virtual Environment (Hyper-V and VMWare), administering VoIP telephone systems, TCP/IP and data protocols, administering large scale server environments; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient, or able to gain proficiency with, a broad array of security software applications and tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software needed to maintain reports and records.
  • Organized with attention to detail.

Physical Demands

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)

Involves routine and frequent exposure to:

  • Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen.
  • Other extreme hazards not listed above.

Special Certifications and Licenses

  • Must be able to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Community Service (QMHP-CS) certification in the time limit designated by EHN.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a TB, criminal background and drug screen.
